Privacy Policy

Calculator inputs: All financial data you enter into calculators is processed entirely in your browser. We do not transmit, store, or access any financial inputs on our servers. Account data: If you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and any simulations you choose to save. Support requests: If you submit a bug report or support request through the platform, we store your message along with your account identifier, the page you were on, and your language setting. This data is used solely to resolve your issue. Usage data: We collect anonymous analytics via Google Analytics to understand how the platform is used and improve it.

We use your information to: provide and improve the platform; send content you explicitly requested (newsletter, quiz results, monthly financial review emails); analyze anonymous usage patterns; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We use cookies for: session management (keeping you logged in — session duration), analytics (Google Analytics — anonymized IP, up to 2 years), and advertising (Google AdSense — up to 13 months). You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not function correctly. Our Cookie Banner allows you to accept or reject non-essential cookies on your first visit. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies or updating your preferences.

finances2you.com displays ads via Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve personalized ads based on your browsing behavior. You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads. We do not control the content of these ads.

Account data is stored securely via Supabase (PostgreSQL, encrypted at rest). Email subscriber data is stored via Brevo. Support request messages are retained until resolved and deleted within 12 months. Anonymous analytics data is retained per our Google Analytics retention settings (up to 14 months for user-level data). Newsletter emails are retained until you unsubscribe and deleted within 30 days of unsubscription. Inactive accounts: Accounts with no login activity for 3 years will receive an email warning. If there is no response within 30 days, the account and all associated data will be permanently deleted. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that poses a high risk to your rights, we will notify affected users without undue delay and, where required, report to the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time directly from your dashboard (Settings → Profile → Delete Account). Deletion is immediate and permanent — simulations, support requests, alerts, profile data, and all other records are removed from our servers. Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data: (a) Right of access — request a copy of the data we hold about you; (b) Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data; (c) Right to erasure — request deletion of your data (use the dashboard button for immediate self-service deletion); (d) Right to restriction — request that we limit how we use your data; (e) Right to data portability — request your data in a portable format; (f) Right to object — object to our processing of your data; (g) Right not to be subject to automated decisions — we do not make automated decisions that significantly affect you. EU/EEA users: In addition to contacting us, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. Newsletter unsubscribe: Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. We process unsubscribe requests within 10 business days as required by applicable law (CAN-SPAM Act). Creating an account requires being at least 18 years old. The calculators and educational content may be used without an account by anyone aged 13 and older under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has created an account or submitted personal information, we will delete it immediately.

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

finances2you is currently free to use. If and when we introduce paid subscriptions (e.g. a Pro plan), payments will be processed by a third-party payment provider such as Stripe. In that case, your payment card details are entered directly with the payment provider and are never stored on our servers; we only receive a tokenized customer reference, your subscription status, and the billing metadata needed to manage your account. The payment provider processes your data under its own privacy policy. Refunds, where applicable, are governed by our Terms of Use.
